Diamonds are an LPGA Golfer’s Best Friend June 20, 2019 – Posted in: The Latest
A beautiful piece of the Great Lakes Bay Region is going home with the winners of the LPGA Tour event at the Midland Country Club, thanks to Herman Hiss & Company and Nick Schwall.
Nick, 5th generation co-owner of Herman Hiss, designed an 18k white gold and diamond necklace with custom pendant for the two-woman team who wins the inaugural Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational tournament. Each woman receives her own necklace. In addition, one event volunteer will receive a smaller version of the necklace. The volunteer’s necklace is crafted from sterling silver and white sapphire.
In designing the necklaces, Nick realized his goal of creating something unique. “I wanted the winners to go home with a statement piece that represented the quality of Herman Hiss and would help them to remember the time they spent in mid-Michigan,” Nick said.
The $6,000 necklace represents Michigan well. The pendant resembles well-known Midland-area landmarks. It was important to use to work with a Michigan jewelry maker, so we chose Utica-based HL Manufacturing to create the piece.
“The necklace is a conversation piece and something the winner can be proud of.”
During the tournament, from July 15-20, the necklace will be displayed at different locations throughout the course.
We’re proud to serve as partners for the LPGA Tour and excited that Nick’s work is attracting local media attention.
